Team functions
Eight functions cover application engineering, expert recruitment, and the platform underneath. Scope and current focus are recorded for each.
Platform engineering
Builds the shared infrastructure that carries all 44 applications — the Expert AI layer, the AI Software Resources library, Integration Architecture, and Business OS. The requirement is that 44 independent applications share common services (identity, payments, compliance) while keeping industry-specific workflows separate.

Solutions architecture
Translates domain expertise from practitioners into application design. This function works directly with founding contributors in each field to convert industry workflows into application features.
Current focus · The 10 applications in active development — Healthcare, Pharmacy, Real Estate, Finance, Home Services, Home Building, Consumer Services, Startup & Founder Ecosystems, Marketing, Government — each designed with practitioner input.
AI/ML engineering
Develops the Expert AI layer, which learns from practitioner contributions rather than scraped internet data, and puts that encoded expertise to work inside each application.
Current focus · The Expert AI layer that distinguishes M44 applications from generic AI trained on data written by people outside the field.
Product leadership
Leads product development for the industry applications: feature prioritization, roadmaps, and quality standards, with each application validated by practitioners in its field.
Current focus · Product processes that scale from the 10 applications in active development to all 44, while keeping domain depth in each.
Founding contributor recruitment
Recruits domain experts across the 10 industries in active development, identifies practitioners with working industry knowledge, and manages the application and review process.
Current focus · The first generation of founding contributors — practitioners involved in application design from the start.
Partnership development
Manages relationships with technology partners, research institutions, and industry associations, covering technology integration, research collaboration, and industry connections.

Contributor experience
Supports founding contributors through the contribution process — how experts engage with the platform, how contributions are recorded, and how they work with engineering teams.
Current focus · Contribution workflows, the attribution record, and the supporting infrastructure for practitioner participation.
Financial strategy
Manages resource allocation across simultaneous application development efforts and defines the financial model for expert attribution and compensation.
Current focus · A financial model that sustains development across 44 applications while preserving contributor ownership terms.
Operating conviction
M44 was founded on one position: the best industry software is built by the people who work in that industry — not by developers studying workflows from the outside, and not by generic AI trained on scraped internet data.
That position determines how the team is built. Founding contributors are recruited across the 10 industries in active development to design the applications that serve their fields, and every function above exists to support that work.
Three structural commitments hold throughout: contributions are recorded through blockchain attribution so practitioners keep ownership; the architecture is designed for cross-industry pattern transfer; and all 44 applications run on shared infrastructure, which makes building them together less costly than building them apart.
