How M44 builds industry applications.
Four elements: an industry taxonomy, domain expertise from practitioners, a shared platform, and the application each industry receives. 10 industries are in active development.
The development model
How an industry moves from taxonomy entry to working application.
The industry
One application per industry, 44 industries
M44 maps the US economy as 10 sectors, 44 industries, and 963 sub-industries. Each industry gets a dedicated application designed for how that industry works. 10 industries are in active development; 34 are in expert discovery.
- Healthcare: clinical decision support and documentation automation
- Pharmacy: medication management and workflow optimization
- Real Estate: transaction management and market analysis
- Finance: advisory automation and compliance checking
- Home Services: scheduling, estimation, and client management
- Home Building: project management and code compliance
- Consumer Services: membership management and service delivery
- Startup & Founder Ecosystems: business planning and operations automation
- Marketing: campaign management and audience analysis
- Government: constituent services and process automation
The expertise
Domain experts supply the knowledge each application is built on
Industry-specific software requires knowledge that general-purpose models do not contain. That knowledge comes from practitioners who work the industry, not from developers reconstructing workflows from the outside or from models trained on public data.
- Working experience with industry-specific problems
- Decision patterns used in day-to-day practice
- Compliance and regulatory requirements specific to the field
- Workflows proven in operation
- Edge cases and exceptions practitioners encounter
The platform
One shared platform carries every application
Building 44 separate technology stacks would not be economical. A single shared platform carries all of the applications, and patterns proven in one industry are available to connected industries.
- Expert AI: the intelligence layer built from practitioner contributions
- AI Software Resources: shared building blocks every application inherits
- Integration Architecture: connections to tools industries already use
- Business OS: the operations layer that runs every application
The application
Each industry receives software built for its workflows
The result is an application designed around the industry's own workflows and terminology, built with practitioners in the field. Every contribution that shaped it is recorded through blockchain attribution and remains the contributor's property.
- Designed for industry workflows rather than adapted from generic tools
- Built with practitioners working in the field
- Contributions recorded with permanent attribution
- Founding contributors involved before the first applications launch
The platform underneath
The shared platform has four layers. Each is documented on the platform pages.
Expert AI
The intelligence layer built from practitioner contributions rather than scraped data.
Documentation →AI Software Resources
Shared building blocks that every industry application inherits.
Documentation →The attribution record
Every accepted contribution is recorded through blockchain attribution. Three facts about the record.
Contributions are permanently recorded
Each accepted contribution is recorded on-chain at the time it is made — before applications launch and before production deployment. Authorship cannot be disputed, modified, or erased.
Attribution is the basis for compensation
When applications move from development to production, attribution records are the basis for revenue sharing. The specifics of the compensation model are being defined with founding contributors.
The record documents verified expertise
A contributor's attribution record is an independently verifiable account of the applications they helped build. It accumulates with each contribution and is not controlled by M44.
Common questions
What kind of applications is M44 building?
Industry-specific applications, one per industry, designed with domain experts in each field. 10 industries are in active development and 34 are in expert discovery, toward dedicated applications for all 44 industries in the M44 taxonomy.
Which industries are in active development?
Healthcare, Pharmacy, Real Estate, Finance, Home Services, Home Building, Consumer Services, Startup & Founder Ecosystems, Marketing, and Government. These are the priority for founding contributor recruitment; practitioners from any of the 44 industries may apply.
What kind of expertise is required?
Significant working experience in an industry — real workflows, compliance requirements, and field-specific problems learned in practice. M44 recruits practitioners rather than analysts or consultants who studied the industry from the outside.
What happens after an application is submitted?
Applications are reviewed against the industries in active development. Where expertise aligns, M44 contacts the applicant and reviews the contribution process, the compensation basis, and how attribution is recorded before any contribution begins.
How are contributions attributed?
Every accepted contribution is recorded on blockchain with permanent attribution, starting before applications launch. The record is independently verifiable and is the basis for future compensation.
Are technical skills required to contribute?
No. Contributors bring domain expertise; M44 provides the framework for structuring it into applications. No programming, data science, or AI experience is required.
